
Teamwork and Cooperation
Every job is special to us and we have found that teamwork between the home owner and the contractor helps to make the job run smoother and guarantees a positive final outcome considerably. The following is a list of what you can expect from us and what we need from you.
Exterior Jobs:
From us:
Quality workmanship, including neat painting, minimal damage to foliage and no new splatters on glass and hardware
Thorough
preparation including scraping, sanding, caulking and filling of holes.
Masking
of all windows (especially glass surfaces), doors, light fixtures and hardware
when spray or roller painting.
Drop
cloths used on concrete and foliage to protect from splatters.
Most
dust on window glass may occur when sanding nearby.
We do not clean window glass (dust or old paint splatters), unless
discussed prior to job inception and included in written contract.
Old
paint splatters and spills on existing surfaces are not removed, unless
discussed prior to job inception and included in written contract.
Cosmetic
perfection is impossible on exterior surfaces and all such expectations
should be discussed prior to job inception.
The job will turn out only as good as the surface we are painting.
Reasonable sweeping is done when scraping, but perfection is typically not
achieved.
Detached
sheds, fences and inside of garage doors are not included unless written in
contract.
From you:
Hanging
and potted plants moved away from area to be painted.
Little
or no traffic from small children and pets near the surfaces being painted
during the painting process.
Do
not unmask already masked windows and doors without asking us first.
Do
not leave windows open unless you ask us.
Do arrange to let painters have access to doors and windows opened for painting as needed.
Personal
items attached to walls need removing.
Having your gardener or you prune any plants that touch the exterior vertical walls.
Remove
or lay down climbing vines if possible.
Access
to a bathroom would be appreciated.
Removal of patio furniture from decks and plants moved.
Interior
Jobs:
From us:
Quality workmanship, including neat painting and no splatters on floors.
Cleaning
of dirty surfaces & sanding prior to painting.
Minor
clean up of floors, such as paint flakes and major dust.
Minor dust on furniture and windows. (glass is not cleaned).
Blinds on windows removed and reinstalled.
Plug and switch plates removed and reinstalled.
Hardware removed as needed and reinstalled.
Cover
up of furniture and items placed on beds with new plastic.
Large
furniture will be moved away from walls and moved back (or left out so you can clean
behind).
Everything
cannot be placed back 100% perfect. Every
attempt will be made to restore large items to their original place, but we
don’t know your house like you do.
Cosmetic

job inception. The job will
turn out only as good as the surface we are painting is.
Carpets
will not be vacuumed and/or steam cleaned.
From you:
Removal
of all personal items in room such as
You must clean up your personal dust, debris and personal stuff. That’s not part of our job.
Little
or no traffic from small children and/or pets during the painting process.
Allow us to control the heat and airflow during the job. Too much heat and not enough airflow will slow down the painting process.
Decks
From Us:
Quality
workmanship, including neat painting, minimal damage to foliage and no new
splatters on glass and hardware.
Thorough preparation including scraping, sanding, cleaning
Masking
of all surrounding areas when spray painting.
Drop
cloths used on concrete and foliage to protect from splatters & over
spray.
Cosmetic
perfection is impossible on exterior surfaces and all such expectations
should be discussed prior to job inception.
The job will turn out only as good as the surface we are painting.
Minor
foliage prunings are not removed.
Detached
sheds, fences are not included unless written in contract.
From You:
Hanging
and potted plants moved off the deck.
Patio furniture removed from deck.
Personal
items attached to walls need removing.
Having
your gardener or you prune any plants that touch the decking surface or hand
railings if possible for a better job.
Remove or lay down climbing vines if possible.
Little
or no traffic from small children and pets near the surfaces being finished
during the staining process.
Do not unmask already masked windows and doors without asking us first.
Stay off the finished deck for 3-5 days.
Access
to a bathroom would be appreciated.
